7 Things About Me: Food Edition

I was self-tagged by that mean ol Creampuff, roro, for this meme (which means I decided to do it myself) and I will now commence to do something about it!

1. My very most favorite dish ever is...butternut squash ravioli, as prepared by Il Fornaio Restaurant. Il Fornaio is a chain (I usually hate chains) of authentic Italian restaurants brought here from Italy by Williams Sonoma who later sold them. There are many peppered around California, even one in Walnut Creek where one of my blog buddies lives. There is also one in Greenwood Village, CO which may be close to another blogger I know. If there is one nearby, and you have not had this dish...what are you waiting for? GO!

2. Egg salad will induce vomiting immediately if introduced to my mouth, sometimes just the smell is enough. If you have eaten this, or hard-boiled eggs, or deviled eggs, or anything involving cold boiled eggs, do not plan on kissing me until you have brushed your teeth, flossed, gargled with mouthwash and eaten at least 3 Altoids.

3. I love a really good, and by good I mean creamy-rich-fattening, Tiramisu. I consider myself quite the Tiramiconnoisseur. I order it anytime I'm in a decent restaurant, and it's listed on the desert menu. I seem to be on a quest for tiramisuperfection. I'll let you know if I find it.

4. Wonderful junk food, Flips; pretzels dipped in chocolaty goodness, Funny bones, those cheese crackers with cheese filling (not peanut butter, the more common filling), Choco-tacos; oh my those are good, and Smartfood or Smartassfood when I'm eating it.

5. Home made macaroni and cheese, simple but soooo comfortylicous.

6. I love Chorizo sausage, but I haven't eaten any mammals since 1990, so now I eat Soyrizo. Soy is like a Cho but different. I love this made into a hash with some poached eggs and biscuits. MmmmmmMmm.

7. I don't do hairy food, peach skin, okra, anchovies, etc.

I would enjoy most of what you like. Never heard of Tiramisu but throw a slab at me I'll give it a go. Also I do not like okra, carbonated drinks,or white sugar.
Anchovies are great if they are used properly, I love them minced and put in pizza sauce. If you leave them whole and just slap them on you can keep them.
Pasta is a treat at my house, the bride is off the hook she makes most of our pasta and bread, even grinds her own flour.

Not much on the junk food. Never developed a taste for it.

Slip, I try to healthy, the junk food is not a huge craving with me, but when I do have it, those are my favorites! I'm more of a savory, than a sweet person. I envy you your home made pasta and bread, mmmmmm. I do love anchovy paste in my Caesar dressing! Hey, did you go to Halfabubbleoff for your blog-bling yet?

I'm with you on the choco taco. Those are guilt-inducing for sure. And homemade mac and cheese.Love it. But you lost me at chorizo. I find it repulsive.

Tinder, Well we'll always have chocolate and cheese!
I'd just like to add that all Chorizo is not created equal. It's all about the spices, the flavor, and like all sausage, it depends who's making it, how it tastes. The soyrizo is close in flavor to what I like, but it's not quite "hot" enough.

alexiev, Even though your comment is a little on the spammy side, I'm leaving it because I checked it out, and I really like your work. If you weren't an artist you'd be gone, but welcome.

Smartassfood - hahaaaaa! That's one of my favourites too. An excellent take on the tag - kudos!

Now I'm craving egg salad ...

I LOVE butternut squash ravioli. (Had butternut squash soup tonight, as a matter of fact). But I will also eat what you are calling hairy food. I'll keep the egg salad warning in mind.

I love anchovies and eggs.

roro, Thanks. Have you been to halfabubble off yet to pick up your bling?

citizen, I know the meals you eat are also meals I would choose, we're close like that! Don't try to sneak me any of that nasty okra though.

ces, okay, eat them. :)

I am also searching through life for the perfect tiramisu. The best so far was in Santa Monica. Creme brulee is another dessert I can't resist.

I hate egg salad, anchovies, okra, eggplant, soda, (especially colas) and junk food. I do not eat catfish or any other bottom feeder or meat, and I'm allergic to liquor which is fine because I can't stand it.

Altoids are one of my staples, especially ginger and licorice.

heartinsanfrancisco, Sounds like we would have no problem sharing a meal!
